UNION OF AGRICULTURAL COOPERATIVES OF LESVOS

The UNION OF AGRICULTURAL COOPERATIVES OF LESVOS was founded in the capital of the island, Mytilene, in the year 1929. Its central offices are in a traditional building on 21, Alkaiou street, in the center of the city.
The Union consists of 62 agricultural and cattle-raising cooperatives from around the island and presents approximately 12,000 cooperative member-producers.

ACTIVITIES:

• Production, bottling, distribution of local olive and other types of oil 
• Production, bottling, distribution of soaps 
• Wholesale & distributing of animals food, fertilizers, agricultural machinery & drugs, olive collection gear. 
• Travel agency, Insurance office, EU subsidies & programs department.
  For the distribution of our products around Greece, we have a sound network of representatives which each of them controlling important geographical areas.

The EAS of Lesvos has its own very modern store-houses for storing olive oil with total capacity of 25,000 tones in Mytilene and in the regions of Gera, Plomari, Kaloni and Polichnitos.
The industrial plant in Pamfila, near Mytilene, is also property of the Union.
The Union provides work for 70 full-time employees.
